EFFECT OF MIRROR THERAPY THROUGH FUNCTIONAL ACTIVITIES TO IMPROVE MOVEMENT AS CENTRAL POST-STROKE PAIN TREATMENT: A CASE REPORT

Background: Stroke patients generally have disorders related to decreased functionality, motor disturbances being the most common. One symptom of stroke is sudden weakness one side body on face, arms and legs. Central post-stroke pain a condition central neuropathic arising directly from lesions cerebrovascular somatosensory nervous system. Mirror therapy non-pharmacological in form imaging limbs, where mirror medium used convey visual stimulation brain through observing parts who are not disabled while doing series movements. helps reducing disability limbs as treatment. for pain, thereby helping improve functional shorten rehabilitation period. Summary case: A 54-year-old man with painful spastic left hand has been diagnosed infarct right thalamus 2 years ago. done two weeks, precisely six days per week duration about 30 minutes. by using media that placed both hands patient symmetrically observes reflection healthy limb flexion, extension, finger counts, grasping objects. Visual Analogue Scale (VAS Score) measure level before after therapy. After month experienced an increase function decrease scale. Conclusion: promising method stroke.
